Balinese volcanic stone (paras or black lava) or cast in bronze by
artisans in Bali, then finished, sealed for the weather it will live in,
and crated for worldwide shipping. At Suryana Buddha Atelier,
every piece is carved by hand in Batubulan — the village that has
supplied Bali’s temple statuary for more than a century — and personally
approved by our founder and master carver, Wayan Suryana, before it
leaves the workshop. This is not a warehouse of imported castings. It is
a working atelier where a block of Kerobokan paras becomes a serene,
weather-ready Buddha under a carver’s chisel.

Second, the carver’s judgement. Wayan Suryana
learned this craft from his father and grandfather and has run the
family workshop for eighteen years. He approves every commission and

material and finish that will actually survive there.
